I also encourage everyone reading this to give amateur web design a shot! Without grandstanding too much, I think that we have lost a lot of what made the early internet feel like a humane place.
While little e-hovels like this certainly will not stop the monopolization the internet, my hope is that preserving a little bit of the spirit of what made the early internet so interesting can at least serve as a reminder that its promise has not yet been fulfilled, and that the point of tools is for us to make the best use of them, not the other way around. And any little bit of time you can spend not being advertised to, nor tracked so you can be advertised to later, offers at least a little bit of respite.
Ah, but I've been prattling on for long enough now, that HTML won't debug itself...
